This is one of my favorite bowie albums but when it was originally released i was buying cds not vinyl. Earthling stylised as eart hl i ng is the 20th studio album by english recording artist david bowie it was originally released in february 1997 by arista and virgin co produced by bowie reeves gabrels and mark plati it was recorded in 1996 at mountain studios in montreux switzerland and looking glass studios in new york city following the conclusion of the outside tour. Bowie latched onto the late 1990s electronic jungle craze and went on tour with nine inch nails. No vinyl cdr 51 listed for sale. About as good as the music that inspired it no comment and bowie is obviously very fond of i m afraid of americans but it s still rather dispiriting for most fans. I ve been rebuilding my lp collection in recent years and when i heard earthling was being reissued on vinyl i had to buy a copy and i m glad i did.
